Your GSOC.
AI-Powered.
Cobalt Monitoring Intelligence deploys AI handlers that detect events, reason through context, identify root cause, and take action — in seconds, not minutes. Your team focuses on what actually matters.
Your GSOC Is Drowning in Noise
Security operations centers process thousands of alarms every week. The vast majority are false positives, device errors, or human mistakes — burying the real threats in noise and burning out your team.
Alarms Are Nuisance
Device malfunctions, Door Held Open events, environmental triggers — most alarms require no security response at all, but every one demands operator attention.
Average Triage Time
Manual triage means pulling video, cross-referencing badge data, calling the site, and deciding — for every single alarm. Real threats wait in the queue.
Operator Turnover
Repetitive, high-volume alarm triage leads to fatigue, missed events, and burnout. The best operators leave. The rest disengage.
Every Event Type. A Dedicated AI Handler.
Each incident type has its own handler — trained to reason through the event, pull context from your cameras and access control, identify root cause, and take action.
Person Down — Medical Emergency
The Fall Detection Handler analyzes the camera feed in real time, confirms a person has fallen, and reclassifies the event — triggering the appropriate response workflow before a human even opens the alert.
- Detect: Person on ground identified via camera feed
- Reason: AI confirms person appears to be in distress and has fallen to the ground
- Act: Event type auto-updated to Medical Emergency
- Resolve: Emergency response workflow initiated
Door Held Open — Root Cause in Seconds
The DHO Handler reviews the door alarm, links the camera feed, identifies what is holding the door — and either clears the event or escalates with full context.
- Detect: Door opened → Alarm triggered: Door Held Open
- Reason: AI context: Object propping door open
- Act: Event escalated, guard dispatched to door
- Resolve: Root cause: Door propped. Access control system updated
Door Forced Open — AI Triage, Not Guesswork
A forced-door alarm would normally require an operator to pull video, check badge logs, and call the site. The DFO Handler does it all — and generates a service ticket when the root cause is a faulty device.
- Detect: Alarm triggered: Door Forced Open
- Reason: Intrusion analysis: person exited secure zone. Root cause: faulty request-to-exit device
- Act: Event cleared. Service ticket generated for door repair
- Resolve: Access control system updated. Full audit trail preserved
Firearm Detected — Lockdown in Seconds
When a firearm is detected, every second counts. The Gun Detection Handler analyzes the scene, confirms with a human specialist, and triggers PACS lockdown — all within seconds.
- Detect: Scene analysis: firearm detected via AI vision
- Reason: Human verification: confirmed
- Act: PACS action triggered: lockdown initiated
- Resolve: Event escalated with full visual evidence and audit trail
Every Event. Searchable. Auditable.
Every event processed by Cobalt Monitoring Intelligence is logged with linked video, thumbnails, root cause, and a complete audit trail. Filter by date, site, region, event type, root cause, or resolution status.
- Filter: Search by date range, site, region, or event category
- Analyze: Filter by root cause, alarm type, and resolution status
- Review: Linked video and thumbnails for every event
- Report: Export data for compliance, audits, and leadership reporting

Video analytics detect motion, objects, or anomalies in camera feeds and generate alerts. AI handlers go further — they receive an alert, then reason through the event by cross-referencing video with access control data, badge logs, door state, and historical patterns to determine root cause and take automated action. Video analytics answer "what happened." AI handlers answer "why it happened and what to do about it."
Yes. Cobalt Monitoring Intelligence integrates with existing PACS including LenelS2 OnGuard, C•CURE 9000, Genetec, Avigilon, Avigilon Alta (Openpath), S2 NetBox, BrivoOne, and Acre Feenics, as well as VMS platforms like Milestone XProtect, Genetec, and BrivoOne. You can modernize your GSOC without replacing any existing infrastructure.
AI handlers typically respond in under 15 seconds — compared to the 3 to 5 minutes required for manual operator triage. For critical threats like firearm detection, the handler can confirm and initiate lockdown within seconds of initial detection.
In enterprise deployments, AI handlers resolve up to 94% of access control events without human escalation. The majority of auto-cleared alarms are caused by device malfunctions, Door Held Open events, valid badge-after-forced-open events, and other non-security root causes.
Edge deployment processes data locally on-prem for data sovereignty and bandwidth efficiency. Cloud deployment enables rapid rollout and centralized management without hardware. Hybrid combines both — process sensitive video at the edge, route analytics to the cloud for centralized visibility across all sites.
Cobalt Monitoring Intelligence supports HIPAA-compliant deployments with Business Associate Agreements (BAAs) in place for healthcare environments. The platform can be configured to meet healthcare data protection requirements, including restrictions on PHI access and compliant audit trail documentation.
AI handlers augment security teams rather than replace them. By automating triage of nuisance alarms — up to 80% of all events — handlers free operators to focus on genuine threats, investigations, and proactive monitoring. Organizations typically see reduced operator burnout, improved response quality, and the ability to scale monitoring without proportionally increasing headcount.
What Is GSOC Modernization?
GSOC modernization is the process of transforming a Global Security Operations Center from manual, operator-driven alarm monitoring to AI-powered event handling. Traditional GSOCs rely on human operators to review every alarm — pulling video, cross-referencing badge data, and making a judgment call for each event. In a modern GSOC, dedicated AI handlers perform this triage automatically: analyzing the event, linking data from cameras and access control systems, identifying root cause, and either resolving the alarm or escalating it with full context. The result is faster response times, dramatically reduced alarm noise, and a security team that focuses on real threats instead of false positives.
Cobalt Monitoring Intelligence is an AI-powered monitoring platform that deploys these handlers across an organization's existing security infrastructure — including access control systems from LenelS2 OnGuard, C-CURE 9000, Genetec, Avigilon, Avigilon Alta (Openpath), S2 NetBox, BrivoOne, and Acre Feenics, and video management systems from Milestone XProtect, Genetec, and BrivoOne. It works at the edge, in the cloud, or as a hybrid — with no rip-and-replace required.
How AI Handlers Work in a Modern GSOC
Unlike traditional video analytics that simply generate alerts based on motion or object detection, AI handlers process security events end-to-end through a four-step reasoning chain:
1. Detect
The handler receives an event from cameras, access control door sensors, alarm panels, or robotic patrol endpoints. Events include Door Forced Open (DFO) alarms, Door Held Open (DHO) alarms, tailgating attempts, unauthorized entry, firearm detection, person-down incidents, and after-hours access.
2. Reason
The handler cross-references the alarm with linked video footage, badge log data, door state history, and historical patterns for that specific door or zone. It determines whether the event represents a genuine security threat, a device malfunction, human error, or a facilities issue.
3. Act
Based on its assessment, the handler takes automated action. For nuisance alarms, it clears the event and documents the root cause. For genuine threats, it escalates to a human security operator or specialist with full context — including linked video, badge data, and a recommended response. For critical threats like firearm detection, it can trigger a PACS lockdown automatically.
4. Resolve
Every event — whether cleared automatically or escalated — is logged with a complete audit trail: linked video clips, thumbnails, root cause classification, actions taken, and timestamps. This data feeds into automated dashboards that track event clearance rates, response times, alarm distribution by root cause, and top offender doors across all sites.
Types of AI Security Handlers
DFO Handler (Door Forced Open)
Processes forced-door alarms by analyzing whether a genuine intrusion occurred or whether the root cause is a faulty request-to-exit device, a tailgater exiting the secure zone, or a door contact sensor malfunction. When the root cause is a device issue, the handler clears the alarm and generates a facilities service ticket automatically.
DHO Handler (Door Held Open)
Evaluates doors that remain open beyond their programmed threshold. The handler links the camera feed to determine if the door is propped open by an object, held by a person, or stuck due to a mechanical issue. It identifies root cause, dispatches a guard if escalation is warranted, and updates the access control system.
Gun Detection Handler
Uses AI video analysis to identify firearms in camera feeds. When a potential firearm is detected, the handler flags the event for immediate human verification. Upon confirmation, it triggers automated PACS actions including facility lockdown, security dispatch, and law enforcement notification.
Fall Detection Handler
Monitors camera feeds for person-down events. When the AI identifies a person who appears to be in distress or has fallen, it reclassifies the event as a medical emergency and initiates the appropriate response workflow including first responder notification.
Tailgating Detection
Identifies unauthorized access attempts where an individual follows an authorized person through an access-controlled door without presenting credentials. The handler analyzes video, cross-references badge data, and either clears or escalates with linked evidence. Tailgating data is tracked over time by door.
